Equally honoured and sad to be posting this image by #lcmartist Zé Otavio for The Washington Post. Zé was commissioned months ago to illustrate this portrait of the young Queen Elizabeth. It wasn’t for any particular assignment, just a commission of the Queen which of course he was super excited to work on. Little did we know, today this gorgeous art would come out of the vault on the day of her death. RIP Queen Elizabeth. The art was used in the Style section for an article called “Queen Elizabeth II did her job: What made her extraordinary was not who she was but what she gave.”
…”She insisted she was merely a humble public servant. And the most extraordinary thing is that maybe that’s what she was all along.”
